The Baddest Fish
(Kevin Johnston 2005)
I’ve never been a people person, I must admit I’m shy,
But my cold heart skips a beat every night when you swim by
I try to fight this attraction but girl we both know
That if you let me hold you honey, I never let you go.
But if I move on in just a little closer
You might be a bit surprised
That despite my nasty reputation
I’m just a victim of my design
Don’t go in the water girl if you don’t know how to swim
There are creatures out there that’ll swallow you whole
As soon as jump right in
Its best to side with caution, if you must get wet
When you go you never go it alone,
cause I’m the baddest fish you’ve met
I know you think I’m crazy or that I’ve lost my mind
But I agree if you give it a chance, you’ll agree that love is blind
Well I know I’ve got my baggage, and I know these stakes are high
There’s issue left to tackle and more to swallow then just my pride
But if I move on in just a little closer
You might be a bit surprised
That despite my nasty reputation
I’m just a victim of my design
Don’t go in the water girl if you don’t know how to swim
There are creatures out there that’ll swallow you whole
As soon as jump right in
Its best to side with caution, if you must get wet
When you go you never go it alone,
cause I’m the baddest fish you’ve met
My mamma always told me, don’t give my heart away
There’s plenty of fish out in the sea, and I’d find mine one day
But my momma never saw you, but if momma could see me now
She’d understand what I see in you and that would make her proud.
But if I move on in just a little closer
You might be a bit surprised
That despite my nasty reputation
I’m just a victim of my design
Don’t go in the water girl if you don’t know how to swim
There are creatures out there that’ll swallow you whole
As soon as jump right in
Its best to side with caution, if you must get wet
When you go you never go it alone,
cause I’m the baddest fish you’ve met
