Unsinkable Still
(Kevin Johnston 2005)
Somebody stole my bread and my booze,
Somebody’s gone and done me wrong
Walked in the galley and the shelves were all bear,
The barrel’s dry and the rum is gone.
They picked the lock and took all the loot
They’ve left me penniless and poor.
They’re wreakin’ havoc and they want me to think
Harmonically they’ve struck a chord
CHORUS:
But we’ll row this boat through a hurricane wind
And when the waves ride hihg, we’ll run her in again
Oh we’re rough and we’re ready always were and always will
Unmistakably, undeniably, unsinkable still.
I know they’re telling tales to my crew,
Of thieves and liars and the like.
Those scary monsters that lurk in the deep
Have giant teeth and appetites.
Visions of mutiny now dance in their heads,
As those stories start to grow,
They’re wreakin’ havoc and they want me to think
That pretty soon she’s gonna blow.
CHORUS
I keep hearing rumors about our demise.
It blows my mind what goes around
Yeah we lost our marbles when that survy set in.
The ship had sank and we all drowned
But I guess thats news to me and the boys
Cuz we got rivers we gonna cross
They’re wreakin’ havoc and they want me to think
Ironically, all hope is lost.
